Martial Arts Birthday Party in Trussville: We Run It, You Watch
You already know how the standard birthday party goes. You book a place, and then you spend two hours running it yourself while the kids get progressively louder and you get progressively less able to hear anything. A martial arts birthday party in Trussville works the other way around.
We host martial arts birthday parties at our Trussville location, and our instructors run the entire thing. Kids get on the mats, learn real techniques, and burn through their energy in games while you sit down. No guest needs any experience. Call us at (205) 537-1115 to check a date.
What makes a martial arts birthday party different?
Somebody else is in charge, and that somebody teaches kids for a living.
The instructors who run our birthday parties are the same ones who hold a room of twenty children together five days a week. Keeping a group of excited kids engaged, moving, and safe is not a side skill for us, it is the actual job. So the party has a plan, it has a pace, and it does not fall apart twenty minutes in when the novelty wears off.
Your job is to show up with the cake and take pictures. That is the pitch, and every parent who has thrown a party in a bounce house understands immediately why it matters.
What do the kids actually do?
They train, in the loosest and most fun sense of that word.
- Real techniques taught from scratch, so every kid learns something they can show their parents in the parking lot.
- Games and drills on the mats that run on the same energy kids already brought with them.
- Time for cake, presents, and whatever else you have planned, once they are worn out and ready to sit.
Nobody is standing around waiting for a turn, and no guest is left out because they are shy or small or have never done this before. The mats are a great equalizer that way. The kid who is not fast and does not catch a ball is often the one who lights up in a martial arts room.
Do guests need experience?
None at all. Most of the kids at any given party have never trained, which is the whole point.
Everything is taught from zero, and the activities are scaled to the ages in the room. Tell us how old your guests are when you book and we will adjust. If some of them end up wanting to come back, they can take a free first class the same as anyone else, and our kids martial arts program runs for ages 4 to 12.
We will be straight with you about that last part. Yes, we would love it if a guest fell in love with martial arts and joined. But nobody is going to pitch a membership at your child's birthday party. That would be an obnoxious way to treat people, and we do not do it.

How do I book a date?
Call us at (205) 537-1115 or email trussville@thedojanggroup.com with the date you are considering and the ages of the kids coming. We will confirm availability and walk you through exactly what is included, what to bring, and what we handle.
Book earlier than you think you need to. Weekend dates go first, especially in the spring and around the holidays, and the last thing you want is to have already promised your kid a party on the mats.
Your first class is free.
Kids or adults, total beginner or coming back after years off. Step on the mat once, then decide.

Do the kids need martial arts experience to come to the party?
No. Most party guests have never trained a day in their lives, and that is exactly who these parties are built for. Our instructors teach everything from scratch and run the whole session.
Does my child have to be a student at The Dojang?
Call us at (205) 537-1115 and we will walk you through availability and how it works for your family. We host parties for our members and we are glad to talk through options if your child is not training with us yet.
What do parents need to bring?
Bring the cake, the food, and anything you want for decorations. We handle the mats, the instruction, the games, and the energy. We will confirm the exact details with you when you book.
What ages work best for a martial arts birthday party?
Elementary age kids are the sweet spot, roughly the same ages as our kids martial arts program for 4 to 12 year olds. Tell us the ages of your guests when you call and we will scale the activities to the group.
